I'm Sarah Werner, and I write this blog.
I am an early modern scholar with research interests primarily in book history and performance. Sometimes those two fields overlap, but most often I pursue them separately.
The first interest comes into play as part of my job as the Undergraduate Program Director at the Folger Shakespeare Library. I'm not going to tell you more about it because this is my blog, not the Folger's blog, and beside, if you go the website, you'll learn lots of information about the program and the book history seminars I teach, including a syllabus and some teaching resources. If you still have questions, email me (wynken DOT blog AT gmail DOT com).
The second interest is the source of much of my own scholarship, which includes a book on Shakespeare and Feminist Performance and a collection of essays that I edited on New Directions in Renaissance Drama and Performance Criticism. It's also one of the reasons that I am an Associate Editor at Shakespeare Quarterly. If you're also interested in Shakespeare and performance, you'll want to check out the special issue that I'm editing on the subject; we're doing an open peer review and it's very exciting.
If you want to know more about my academic life, you can find my c.v. and a pretty empty profile of me on Academia.edu.
